DATABASE BASICS

How is a database organized?

Databases organize information into records, each of which represents a single unit of information, such as a bibliographic citation for a journal article, a book, a paper presented at a conference, a dissertation, or a complete report.

If a database contains ten (10) journal articles, one (1) dissertation, and one (1) conference paper, the database contains twelve (12) records.
