A view of a young Japanese girl playing the classical koto. This photograph was taken by Jim Epler at 5:07 PM on 5/17/2007 in Atami, JPN at the New Akao Hotel. It is cataloged under the terms people and objects in this photography database.

This image was recorded on digital media using a Canon Digital Rebel xTi camera with a Canon 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens stopped to f 4 and exposed at a speed of 1/20 sec.

Photographer Comments: Upon arrival at the New Akao hotel, we were greeted with refreshments and a musical performance by a young woman dressed in a komono who was playing the O-koto or KOTO (harp) classical Japanese instrument.

Additionally, Jim thought of search words that someone might use to locate this picture including the terms Japanese, harp, Japan, o-koto, musical instrument, koto and kimono, so he included these on this page as a service to himself and others who would like to download this free photograph!
