Why do you use a database? Some online databases are used for discipline-specific or interdisciplinary research. When used individually, they allow you to search a discipline or a topic. When used in conjunction with one another, they allow you the option of broadening the scope of your research beyond the confines of the individual discipline. For example, lets say you are researching the topic technology and training methods, and you want to search for articles written in both the educational and business disciplines. You can use WebSPIRS to search both educational and business databases simultaneously (here, we checked three, Business Abstracts, ERIC, and Educational Abstracts).
